Great news! There is Only Love!
Disney got it all wrong. I’m not sure if it was on accident or if the lie was intentional. It really got me while I watched the new Beauty and the Beast, and then again when I found myself watching the closing show in Magic Kingdom reinforcing the moment Belle realizes her love for the dead Beast and says the magic words, “I love you,” and he returns to life as the beautiful human prince he once was.
I cried to my friend, Marilyn, " It’s not so. You can’t just say 'I love you' and they magically come back to life. It doesn’t work that way here on planet Earth."
If it did, Joe would be here right now, most likely in the garage checking in with his friends, with baseball, with his world. He’d be stepping out to feed the fish in this early morning sun and looking around the yard to see what work needed to be done for the day. The maiden grass has already been burned to the ground for new growth and not much is needed in the clearing way of weeds and debris.
Two years ago this evening Joe left his physical form and moved his consciousness into another realm. I cannot offer you proof in eternity; I can only experience eternity and share my experiences with you. I have experienced this no time many times. And, because of this, I must look beyond literal interpretations of these stories and into the metaphor if I am to be ONE IN LOVE.
Life, Death and Love are central to most stories. If I follow Jungian analysis of story, I am seeing all the characters as aspects of one psyche, my psyche. The acceptance and embrace of Beast brings Beauty to wholeness. We must find true love and acceptance for the parts of our selves that we don’t like and the parts of our story that we don’t like. When we do, everyone and everything around us is affected. Love is what transforms.
When I say true love, I am not referring to what some view as fairy tale love. I am referring to the aligning of energies in truth and WE ARE LOVE. THERE IS ONLY LOVE. It’s a message that was given to Rosalita and me yesterday and I had to share this fantastic news. Joe wanted me to share it so that we can rejoice and celebrate. If life and death are two sides of the same coin, then that coin is Love.
THERE IS ONLY LOVE.
Feel this. Go beyond taking it in intellectually. Really FEEL IT.
Now, can you go back to this day and look at it the same? Each bird, each tree, the sun shining, the new growth and the death that created it, the breeze, the community in the market place, the parks, the other side of a team, the other side of an agenda, platform, or issue? Love is what transcends.
I will proceed through this day as I have learned to move through life:
